psoas stretch-HD from Minga and Shawn on Vimeo.
Using a yoga bolster is amazingly useful in the opening of the psoas muscles and the front of the hip. The rectus femoris and tensore ,fascia latae and other muscles in the hips are often chronically tight from sitting the many hours modern life asks us to sit. When we are sitting the front of the hip is contracted for long periods of time and the psoas is half engaged as well. We rarely use them to lift the knees to the chest or relax them all the way by extending our legs beyond the hip. That tension builds in our hips, lower back, and lower abdomen over time making us stiff, tight and sore.
Using a firm yoga bolster for support, you can relieve psoas tension daily!
