A supported back bend is the beginning in opening the chest and shoulders, but to go a step deeper and open the muscles around and under the shoulder blades, self-massage tools are essential! Place the self-massager under one shoulder blade and make circles with the arm to find the optimal place under your shoulder blade where tension is hiding. Play on one side, then make sure you get the other side and notice the difference between both sides. This can be done supine on the floor, but with the bolster you get the benefit of the chest opening as well, which is optimal. Play with the tools under all areas of your upper back in this position to release as much tension as you can. Your body will thank you!
